The event will expose job seekers to the various careers in construction, in addition to enabling industry vendors to collaborate with fellow trade partners throughout the region.

Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes, in partnership with the South Bay Workforce Investment Board and the Carson Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation, will host an apprenticeship and career job fair on Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Carson Community Center.

The job fair anticipates the development of the 157-acre former Cal Compact Landfill, the mayor’s office said. The project is expected to bringDeveloper Carson Goose Owner, LLC. is closing on about 86 acres of the site. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024, she said.
