The Black Business Council wants kingpins in the counterfeit goods trade prosecuted.

CEO Kganki Matabane says the criminals are highly organised and their structures must be dismantled. It follows yet another bust in Cape Town where goods valued at over R100-million were seized.

"It looks like there people who are seriously organised and where you have organised people means you are dealing with a structure that you cannot just dismantle by arresting people at the bottom," Matabane said. "You need to look at the top and follow the money and check where this money is going after people have bought these counterfeit goods.

"And that I'm sure our financial system is very robust we should be able to pick that up. And once we get the kingpins, everything will stop."
