Big business will need to forge an alliance with community groups if it wants Treasurer Jim Chalmers to heed calls for wholesale tax reform, outgoing Productivity Commission chairman Michael Brennan says.agenda due to political and budgetary difficulties, disappointing groups like the Business Council of Australia, which have been vocal about raising the GST and cutting inefficient taxes to lift productivity.
