Cathal J Ferris has worked as a freelance cocktail bartender for the past four years

A bartender in Belfast is hoping his new cocktail business will show people that staying in is the new night out.

From this, his new business The Suitcase Club was formed. Using the suitcase he moved to London with, Cathal travels to homes and other venues and sets up a quality cocktail club, with everything picked out by the party planners. "I got asked to do somebody's birthday once and it was ridiculously busy, so I thought maybe it was something to look into.

"In any global crisis, we had the pandemic, but even go back to the 1920s and prohibition and look at how people got around that, you have to be innovative to some degree or find other ways to adapt to changing markets," he explained. He said: "The main thing for me and the reason hospitality appeals to me is dealing with people, it's something I thoroughly enjoy. When you do it at a person's house, it definitely feels a lot more personal.
