The International Trade and Industry Ministry has confirmed that 36 new companies have been made approved permit holders.
"Open AP is an import permit facility given by the ministry to qualified bumiputera companies to import reconditioned vehicles for sales in the domestic market.
"After an evaluation process, including an audit by a qualified independent auditor, the number of companies that qualified were 164, of which 128 are existing companies and 36 are new. Those involved in the Open AP process will be strictly monitored, the ministry noted, and those breaching the set conditions can have their approved and allocated APs withdrawn or suspended.

Nothing has changed. Old wine in new bottle. We voted against free riders and PH creates them for their own cronies. What's the difference? No MO1 - 🤔 Should rakyat now tukar to the old contractor that have a new towkay?

The govt should give one free AP to every citizen once in our lifetime. We can give this AP to appointed importers to import car for us. This will reduce car price further. 2nd car then go to the AP holders.

Good to give them, becos by looking into the history, Bumiputeras always share the cakes with non Bumis. Many non Bumis selling imported recond cars, even the APs belong to Bumis. If given to non Bumis, I don't think Bumis will enjoy the same advantage.
