Billy Stewart says after Ezee Fiber's contractors came to dig in his backyard, they left a mess behind and thousands of dollars in damage

after a fiber internet company left a mess in his backyard. Weeks after our first phone call, he got thousands of dollars to cover the damages. Billy Stewart walked KHOU through the backyard of his northwest Houston home and showed where the initial hole was and where the company cut through his fiber optic lineSince Ezee Fiber dug on Aug. 29, Stewart said the bills have been stacking up.

So, KHOU started calling and it took a few weeks, but Josh Schlensker with Ezee Fiber sat down for an interview. "We're a telecommunications company that brings fiber to residential homes," he said."We have services from Willis all the way down to the edge of Galveston." "We have several signs that we put in neighborhoods during construction," he said.Issues like Stewart's yard, the company called a"one-off," but they did work to make it right.

"Obviously some mistakes were made, but we definitely have mitigated all of those and got to a solution where he is satisfied," Schlensker said.The company is doing the majority of installations in people's front yards because they said backyards are already so congested.
