Kota Kinabalu: Talent development growth in Sabah’s aerospace industry requires the right skill set, said Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe.

“Sabah, without exception, is ready to take the challenge by having KKIP Aerospace Training Centre as the only Approved Maintenance Training Organisation conducting basic training in Sabah and East Malaysia,” he said in his speech read by his Special Officer Henry Sim during the inaugural 2023 KATC Aero-Carnival, here, Monday.

Strategic partnerships were announced during the event, between the Mega Aerospace Centre and leading entities in the industry. The KATC Aero-Carnival 2023 marked a significant milestone as it is the first of its kind in Sabah as a catalyst for growth and aligning with the Human Capital and People’s Wellbing thrust of the Sabah Maju Jaya development plan. KATC, certified as Part 147 Approved Training Organisation by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia and nestled within the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park , is the vanguard of aerospace education in the region, managed by Mega Aerospace Centre Sdn Bhd .
