SAB to shut down SA craft beer industry?

SAB, South Africa’s biggest brewery, has evidently had enough of the country’s burgeoning craft beer scene and is thus putting some drastic plans in place to shut it down.

Speaking exclusively to Food24, Ms Lirpa Loof, a Red and Yellow school marketing student currently doing her internship at SAB, said she felt compelled to make known to the public what she heard in a recent marketing brainstorm.

food24 SABreweries can we please not strong arm establishments who are also supporting small business for the sake of profits. What you need to do is assist these smaller breweries in gaining market share. 90% of what we drink is from SAB. You already have monopoly over the industry

food24 SAB does not want to put taps in at smaller bars so how must we survive? Other companies puts in craft taps without hesitation, it would be wonderful to have SAB on tap at our “small” pub!
