After unbundling from holding company Transaction Capital and listing separately on the JSE earlier this month.

WeBuyCars expects its core headline earnings per share for the six months ended 31 March 2024 to jump by between 24% and 29% to between 117.5 and 122.3 cents.

Several non-recurring costs associated with its listing skew the results, and the company believes that core earnings would better reflect its financial state. WeBuyCars ascribed this decrease to its listing, which brought about non-core, once-off transaction costs and non-cash call option derivative accounting adjustments, as well as professional, legal, and JSE listing fees totalling R45 million.
