Shares of EBay Inc. EBAY, +1.44% rose more than 5% in the extended session Tuesday after the company reported a first-quarter adjusted profit above Wall Street expectations and raised earnings and sales guidance for the year. EBay said it earned $521 million, or 57 cents a share, in the quarter, compared with $407 million, or 40 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter.
