The All Progressives Congress, APC, Caretaker Committee Chairman of Rivers State, Tony Okocha has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike as the mentor of Governor Sim Fubara.

Okocha said Fubara was Wike's political investment, stressing that the former wouldn't have been a governor without the backing of the minister. Featuring on Channels Television's Politics Today, Okocha also explained the reason behind the rift between Wike and Fubara. According to Okocha, the need to preserve Wike's political structure in Rivers was behind the feud with Fubara. He said: “Governor Fubara is Wike’s political investment.

I am only saying that you are destroying the structure that produced you.’ “If you are a politician, no politician will allow his structure to be dismantled. When you do that, it means that you have no home to fall back to. That is the issue.” Fubara and Wike have been at loggerheads over the control of Rivers political space.
