TOKYO: U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel expressed regret on Saturday (July 6) for the handling of two cases of sexual assaults allegedly committed by American military personnel on Okinawa.

BATU PAHAT: A 64-year-old man here lost over RM400,000 in a cryptocurrency investment scheme that turned out to be nonexistent.

Batu Pahat acting OCPD Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the private sector retiree initially engaged with an unknown individual on Facebook in March. “Their interaction then moved to WhatsApp, where the victim was enticed to invest in digital currency through 'kakauet.com'," he said in a statement on Sunday .“Consequently, he transferred funds to eight different accounts from April 3 to June 18, amounting to RM400,900,” he added.

Supt Shahrulanuar said that as the scheme unfolded, the victim received a message claiming the US Treasury Department had seized his investment account."Suspecting foul play, the victim refused to comply with the demand," he added.
