More than 200 Carpetright stores are to close with the loss of over 1,000 jobs after the firm was bought by rival Tapi

Carpetright had been hit by the recent downturn in demand for carpets as homeowners shifted towards hard flooring The flooring retailer, which is owned by Nestware Holdings, filed a notice to appoint administrators earlier this month, after struggling

Now it has been confirmed Tapi had agreed to buy 54 Carpetright stores, two warehouses, the brand and its intellectual property in a pre-pack administration deal.He went on to found Tapi in 2015 and remains an adviser for the company, which has grown rapidly in recent years and runs about 175 shops across the UK.Here is a full list of the 213 stores expected to close over the coming days, according to administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers .
