Brigadier Gininda is back on the stand at the High Court in Pretoria.

Brigadier Gininda is back on the stand at the High Court in Pretoria where five men are appearing for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.

The defence attempted to have the confession statements not admitted as evidence during the trial within the trial – citing that accused 1 Muzi Sibiya and 2 Bongani Ntanzi were tortured and coerced into signing documents they had no knowledge of. However, Judge Ratha Mokgoatleng ruled in favour of the state and those confessions form part of the evidence before court.

Brigadier Gininda says the statement by Sibiya was signed freely and voluntarily as there are details contained in it that only Sibiya could have knowledge of. While Gininda said Sibiya lied about the involvement of the two Buthelezi brothers who were in prison at the time of the murder, he described accused number three as the gunman with dreadlocks, although he never mentioned his name.
