A woman torched her husband's business then sent him a video of the blaze while singing

Woman who sent husband video of his burning business in Shropshire while singing 'ring of fire' is spared jailAndrew Wilkins, prosecuting, explained how Pugh, who is 34, had set fire to the garage at the home she shared with her late husband, Kyle Pugh, on Aston Drive in Newport. The court was told that the couple had been out at a funeral on the day of the fire, and had got into an argument after drinking at the wake.

The court heard there were messages back from Mr Pugh 'distraught' at the blaze and seeing his livelihood being destroyed. The prosecution alleged that the value of the damage caused by the fire was nearly £29,000 - a figure disputed by the defence.A victim impact statement from Mr Pugh's sister, Victoria Edmund, told how her brother had built up the business from scratch, to the point where he had international customers and was well respected for his craft.

She said the incident on the night in question had come as the pair were involved in a row while drunk - adding that Mr Pugh had thrown a brick through a bedroom window as he drove away from the home. Sentencing, Judge Lowe said:"I am satisfied you deliberately targeted the garage as that was a way you knew you could hurt your husband the most.

But, the judge said he was prepared to suspend the sentence - although it had been a borderline decision.
