Small business owners in San Antonio have greater access to affordable capital than anywhere else in the U.S. But many don’t know such opportunity exists.

While cities nationwide voice support for small businesses one week annually, San Antonio stands out as a city that takes action year-round. Through local partnerships with city leaders, nonprofits, banks and private donors, small-business owners here — many who might not qualify for traditional funding — have greater access to affordable capital than anywhere else in the U.S. The challenge is that many of these business owners might not realize these opportunities exist.

With no affordable access to capital, Jarvis turned to nonprofit lender LiftFund to get his dream off the ground. He received a zero-interest loan, and over the years Jarvis has started multiple businesses, employing more than 300 people.
