Hitachi, a 114-year-old manufacturing conglomerate, has experienced a remarkable transformation, becoming one of Japan's most valuable companies after a corporate overhaul. Fueled by booming demand for artificial intelligence and clean energy, Hitachi's market capitalization has tripled in the past two years to over $100 billion. The company, which was on the brink of bankruptcy in 2009, is now focused on accelerating growth through its digital and data analysis capabilities. Toshiaki Tokunaga, a veteran from its IT business, has been appointed as the next chief executive.
