Plenty of “high-value jobs” for Australians can be carving out by taking a piece of the space industry, former Rudd-era communication minister Stephen Conroy says.

“This industry exists and is growing around the world,” Mr Conroy told Sky News, pointing to Australia’s vast landmass, pre-existing assets such as the Woomera aerospace facility and potential launch locations which almost brush the equator. His remarks came after the Morrison Government announced a $150 million investment over five years to support NASA’s forthcoming missions to the Moon and Mars.
