Letter: Academies that have paid unsustainable salaries to executive directors should not be bailed out with public money, says Les Bright

When academies were introduced 20 years ago, they were intended to improve the performance of schools and their students, by setting them free of local authority control – a proposition that has become embedded within the secondary education sector.

We're an academy and are in no way free from Local Authority control. We can't chuck students out without being forced to take some kind of monster child kicked out of another school.
