On Thursday, Aug. 11, FFI held a public information session in St. George’s to discuss its plans with residents. He said the meeting was informative and positive, with about 65 people attending, including some from other parts of the west coast. That shows people are interested in learning more, he added.

“It has to be within two kilometres from the nearest community, so we could have it right in the St. George’s planning area, for sure,” said White. White said at this point he doesn’t have any concerns because the project is still in the planning stages.
