By Phoenix Business Journal staffKurt Kroemer, who has served as CEO of The American Red Cross Arizona-New Mexico region since 2016, has announced his retirement.“It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to have had the privilege of working for the Red Cross and helping to fulfill our mission in Arizona and New Mexico,” Kroemer said in a statement.

“I’ve deployed to numerous disasters throughout the country and the small role I played responding to Hurricane Harvey and the mass casualty event in El Paso were two where I felt most proud of our organization. It was an opportunity to see the true resilience of the American people in these devastating events and the role the Red Cross could play in helping people in their darkest hour.”

“Arizona and New Mexico Region have an amazing cadre of paid staff and volunteers. The leadership I leave behind will continue our great work serving clients throughout the state,” Kroemer said
