The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has released 1986 footage of the Titanic.

On its maiden voyage, the Titanic left Southampton, England, bound for New York City, but the ship hit an iceberg and sank off the coast of Newfoundland in the Atlantic Ocean. Nearly 80 years later, in 1985, a team from WHOI and a French oceanographic exploration organisation discovered the ship 3,800 m below the surface, per AP.

"More than a century after the loss of Titanic, the human stories embodied in the great ship continue to resonate," Cameron said in a statement, according to AP.
