The Dow DJIA, -0.38% ended with a loss of around 96 points, or 0.4%, near 25,555, according to preliminary figures. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.30% rose 0.2% to end near 2,792, while the Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.44% rose 0.4% to close around 7,591.
