Netflix jumps on subscriber growth, investors await Powell speech: Yahoo Finance Live

Netflix shares are surging this morning after the streamer reported a jump in subscriber growth. The company has made a big effort to crack down on password sharing during its most recent quarter. Tesla reported earnings and revenue that missed expectations, but the company did announce deliveries of its long-anticipated Cybertruck will begin Nov. 30th. Investors will be keyed into comments from Fed Chair Jay Powell at the Economic Club of New York beginning at 12 p.m. ET.

Smead Capital drew parallels between today's stock market and the Tulip Mania of 1636 and the South Sea Bubble of 1720.
