Digital companies tell ad giant GroupM it’s ‘all hands on deck’ as they work to pull videos of the New Zealand mosque attacks

Social-media companies say they are working to remove video footage filmed by a gunman in the New Zealand mosque shooting that was widely available on social media hours after the attack. Photo: Associated Press By Alexandra Bruell March 15, 2019 6:46 p.m. ET Facebook , Google and Twitter sought to reassure one of the world’s largest ad buyers they were striving to block violent content after video of the New Zealand terrorist attacks ricocheted around social media.

Twitter Inc. said Friday it was working to remove the video. The company told GroupM that it manually reviews videos according to its brand-safety policies before they can be monetized through ads or sponsorships. She urged users to report copies of the video they encounter so Facebook’s systems can block them from being shared again.

Again that is not just a tech problem but a cultural/leadership one. There had been a continuity to this type of “coverage” long before YouTube even existed

Literally no way to do this I'm afraid. The video is absolutely everywhere already. Unless you control the network (think China/Turkey etc.) you can't control the content.
