THE introduction of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition in 1991 has helped Malaysia keep up with the catalytic and rapidly growing defence industry, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. When launching the show today, he said the move was necessary as now Malaysia has gained prominence and is known as the leading maritime and aerospace exhibition in Asia Pacific.
