These are the companies where people most want to work, according to LinkedIn

Alphabet, Google’s parent company GOOGL, +0.44% , came out on top in this year’s “Top Companies” ranking from jobs site LinkedIn.

LinkedIn MSFT, +0.65% only considered companies that have at least 500 employees and that have flat or positive growth in their number of employees over the last 12 months, according to LinkedIn data. “Job demand” considers how often people are viewing and applying to jobs at a given company. And “employee retention” is how many employees are still at the company at least one year after they were hired.

At Google, for example, employees in 2018 did a walkout, to protest the workplace culture, which they said promotes and protects perpetrators of sexual harassment.
