A clean-up notice has been issued to a Sydney business after a suspected pollution incident at a creek in the city's west.

Protection Authority  issued the notice to a licensed chemical manufacturing and distribution business in Seven Hills, with an order to take measures to contain and remove the alleged pollution by tomorrow.A clean-up notice has been issued to a Sydney business after a suspected pollution incident at a creek in the city's west.

Blacktown Council and the EPA launched an investigation after reports from the community about the water turning blue at two locations in the creek. The EPA claimed officers found blue-coloured liquid in containers with some labelled waste dye at the company's premises. "EPA officers inspected the waterway and collected water samples for testing," the regulator said in a statement.Parts of Toongabbie Creek turned aqua blue last week in a phenomenon that puzzled locals and authorities. "However, some sections of the creek with lower flows may have some isolated spots where slightly blue coloured water may be present."If the community sees blue coloured water they should avoid this area while we are waiting for test results.
