Jack Chambers is to replace Michael McGrath as Finance Minister following the Government's decision to appoint the Fianna Fáil TD to the EU Commissioner position.

At this meeting, the next Commission President, widely expected to be incumbent Ursula von der Leyen, will also be elected.
Chambers, 33, who was appointed Fianna Fáil deputy leader last week, has served as a Super Junior Minister, or a Minister of State who sits at Cabinet, for the last four years. The Dublin West TD is currently a Minister of State in the Department of Transport. He previously served as the Government Chief Whip when Mr Martin was Taoiseach.
The Fianna Fáil Cabinet reshuffle follows just two months on from changes on the Fine Gael side of the table following Simon Harris’ appointment as Taoiseach.
