The calm sheltered waters of Fraser Island, now also known by its Indigenous name of K’gari, is the perfect playground for the gentle giants. “Whale and dolphin watching is growing in popularity in Queensland with an increase of 35.9 per cent over the past year and 5.2 million domestic visitors participating in a nature-based activity as part of their holiday to Queensland.
“The region became the world’s first Whale Heritage Site in 2019, accredited by the London-based World Cetacean Alliance.
