Pokemon-inspired title, is creating a new company with the Japanese electronics and gaming giant.
Specifically, the Palworld creator has teamed up with Sony Music Entertainment, to create Palworld Entertainment, Inc. As per the official statement, the partnership aims to develop 'the reach of intellectual property and for expanding commercial business endeavours'. In other words, it sounds a lot like the companies plan on creating merchandise based on characters found in-game.
To that end, the deal also includes Sony Music Entertainment, Inc, and the anime studio cum game publisher, Aniplex, both of which are part of the Sony Corporation. On that note, it also seems that the Palworld creators will be pushing out merchandise through Aniplex Online. What is essentially the really odd part about this whole story is Nintendo and the lack of a response from one of the most litigious gaming brands in the world. The owner of the Pokemon company has been uncharacteristically mum about the deal, even when Palworld made its debut back in January this year. Online speculation suggests that it isn't going to war, yet, on account that it risks alienating fans of a beloved new game.
