Johannesburg’s MMC for Human Settlements, Mlungisi Mabaso, has called on the South African Police Service to prioritize a swiftMabaso expressed concern after Mphahlele was shot and killed on Sunday when police and private security officers were evicting persons occupying containers erected to provide shelter during the COVID-19 pandemic in Johannesburg’s Alexandra township.“It seems like no one knows what happened.
“Hence, we requested that they expedite and prioritise this case so that we are able to understand who actually fired the shots. We are hoping police will do justice in this investigation so that the family is able to find closure,” adds Mabaso.Meanwhile, the family says swift police action will help them come to terms with the tragedy.
