Police are hunting an attacker and trying to trace a 'machete' thought to have been used in a horror knife attack at Longsight Market.
An evidence tent had been erected, with multiple police vehicles at the scene amid investigations. Officers were also seen reviewing the market's CCTV footage as they attempted to piece together what happened. "Half the market stalls have gone home. We need lights here at the market. We come early in the morning and it’s dark. It’s not safe. This won’t be the end of this."
It is understood detectives are 'keeping an open mind' about the motive for the attack. It is thought the man suffered the serious injury to his wrist.
