Ireland’s love for Revolut seems to show no signs of fading. New figures published this week indicate that it is no longer just consumers who are increasingly relying on the fintech for their banking. It isn’t just HP that’s suffering on the reputation front. Clearview, the facial recognition company, got hit with a €30.5 million fine over the creation of what the Dutch data protection agency called an “illegal database” of billion of photos of faces.
Talking of funding, Safe Superintelligence, an artificial intelligence research lab co-founded by former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, has secured a whopping $1 billion to build a safe and powerful AI system. Sutskever was instrumental in developing OpenAI’s technology but he is just as well known for his role in trying to oust CEO Sam Altman last year before changing course and pushing for his return.Elon Musk doesn’t win them all.
