The event aimed to address gender-related issues and chart a path toward a more inclusive maritime industry.Participants, including representatives from various maritime organizations and seafarers, discussed key challenges faced by women in the industry and developed strategies to promote gender equality.

Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive work environment for all, regardless of their gender. By understanding the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in the maritime sector, we can develop effective policies and programs to promote gender equality and empower women,' Atienza said.During the focus group discussion, participants began by examining essential gender and development mainstreaming concepts, providing a foundation for the broader dialogue.
