Preapproval To Buy House,Negative Gearing,How Do You Get A Home Loan

Young people facing the prospect of paying off someone else's investment property rather than owning a home of their own say it's high time serious steps were taken to address the housing crisis.

Young Australians say it is "blatantly unfair" that politicians with investment properties are the ones making decisions locking them into paying off someone else's mortgage rather than owning their own home., senior high school students and renters expressed their frustration at the lack of change in what to them is a virtually inaccessible property market.

"Typically 20 per cent is the amount that you need to come up with in order to not be charged this thing called lenders mortgage insurance … which is basically insurance that the bank takes for themselves to insure the bank against you not being able to service the loan," Ms Owen says. The housing crisis is one of the biggest issues facing politicians heading into the federal election next year.Anthony Albanese indicated earlier this month negative gearing reform would not be part of his election platform.

"I feel like maybe they don't understand … the struggle that a lot of people go through when trying to buy a house," he says. Each generation has had its own unique struggles with first-home ownership. But which has had it the worst? Experts say it has little to do with smashed avo."But maybe they just need to then, like, work harder to make it fair for everyone else — like, give other people good opportunity to achieve the same level of wealth that they have.
