“The Arch stood unwaveringly at the intersection of faith, morality and action and he taught us that peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice and forgiveness. So we gather here not only to honour his legacy, but to reflect on one shared responsibility, to uphold truth and justice.”

Matviichuk, a Ukrainian human rights lawyer, remarked that the fight for freedom has no limitations, and that people of the world still have a chance to fight for a peaceful and democratic future.“Let me finish and once again repeat the words of Desmond Tutu; “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. We are fighting for freedom as well as human solidarity. Our future is unclear, but not pre written.
