A record 4.1 million Americans turned 65 in 2024, and this demographic cohort will be 40 per cent larger by 2050. The section on the space economy focused on military applications and had little to offer Star Trek fans. The report cites General B. TD analysts expect newer obesity treatments and an expanding market for them. Says the report: “TD Cowen expects that the ripple effects from obesity medicines could start to become clearer in 2025 as new conditions are added to the labels, supply ramps, reimbursement and coverage are broadened, and more data and new agents emerge.”

Yield-oriented stocks performing well in a growthy economy is a bit surprising – higher bond yields tend to accompany growth and they provide competition for investor assets - but I suspect the share buybacks component of total yield plays a bigger role when growth is strong.
