.jbarro sees no reason that the Sprint/T-Mobile merger should be allowed to go forward

On June 11, New York attorney general Letitia James announced that New York, California, and seven other states filed a lawsuit seeking to block the proposed merger between Sprint and T-Mobile. Photo: Drew Angerer/Getty Images As of two years ago, the Trump administration was officially very concerned about the anti-competitive effects of telecommunications mergers, with the president repeatedly instructing his appointees to fight the merger of AT&T and Time Warner.

Several state attorneys general are not waiting for the DOJ to decide; they are suing to block the merger on antitrust grounds.

jbarro questions in response to your article: wasn’t t-mobile paid a large sum for the failed att deal? wouldn’t waiting for 5g before a merger approval give att and verizon an unfair advantage?

jbarro All good policy going forward will be made at the state level.

I worked for Sprint during their NexTel merge...they sucked before AND after.
