A LAWMAKER has filed a resolution urging a legislative inquiry into the alleged improper implementation of senior citizen and persons with disabilities discounts by ride-hailing and food delivery companies.
Ordanes said these policies are a clear violation of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board policies. Citing Grab’s Public Affairs during a recent hearing of the Committee on Public Services, Ordanes said that drivers shoulder the 20 percent discount given to persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and students.
Teofilo Guadiz, LTFRB chairman, rebutted Grab’s claim, stating that under their franchise, the Transportation Network Companies should shoulder the 20 percent discount.
