Last year, movies, TV series and commercials were shot in almost every municipality in Durham and the region wants to help local businesses get involved in the industry. Officials say the sector relies on hundreds of creative and professional services to make a successful production, so you could host actors in your hotel or restaurant, provide materials to build a set, dry clean a production’s wardrobe or rent out things that are used on screen.
The region is hosting a free seminar on how to do business with the film and TV industry. It’s being hosted by the Durham Region Film Commission in collaboration with the region’s municipal film offices and Parkwood National Historic Site in Oshawa.
