PETALING JAYA: From the United States to Europe and Asia, young people are seeking a better future for themselves.

At only 16 years old, Greta Thunberg, who has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, is the face of global youth climate change. The pig-tailed Swedish schoolgirl famously told a room full of European lawmakers and tycoons at the World Economic Forum that children are tired of being told to be hopeful.

Her simple yet powerful actions have inspired young people all over the world to call on their governments to take urgent climate actions. Aged 17 to 19, the shooting survivors Cameron Kasky, Jaclyn Corin, David Hogg, Emma González, and Alex Wind mobilised students across the nation to demonstrate in support of legislation to prevent gun violence.
