Save the Children sets target of 100 litres of breast milk via SABCNewsOnline

Children’s rights organisation, Save the Children, has set an ambitious target of collecting 100-litres of milk from 100The campaign is part of its centenary celebrations taking place next month. The donated breast milk will be given to the South African Breastmilk Reserve for premature babies.

The reserve has called on breastfeeding mothers to donate their milk. Patrick Shivuri from Save the Children says: “We will be mobilising mothers especially those that are in a breastfeeding ward at a hospital and those that will be voluntarily coming to donate breast milk to come into the campaign that we are running at Kalafong Hospital. It’s part of our centenary. We want to raise 100 litres of milk from 100 mothers, that is our ambitious goal that we want to reach.”
