The tobacco black market in Australia has grown in the last few years; a total of 633 tonnes of illicit tobacco was seized in 2018-19. He added, however, that these measures “would not be enough to bring down illegal cigarette incidences in a meaningful manner.”

 

High duties only promote the black market trade. For example, the death penalty for peddling drugs did not stop the trade & drug addiction at all. Our law makers n enforcement got to be rational, logical n relevant to the issues. It is not rocket science
