The deal strengthens the firm's oil and gas practice in Texas and Louisiana.

Katherine Feser / Houston ChronicleWeaver, a national accounting and advisory firm based in Houston, has joined with PRM CPAs + Advisors in a deal that expands the firm into Louisiana.

With offices in Lafayette, La. and Houston, PRM focuses primarily on tax and accounting advisory services. The combination, effective Nov. 1, adds one partner and 11 other professionals to Weaver’s team.“Weaver and PRM have had a strong working relationship for many years, and we could not be more pleased to have their firm join Weaver,” said John Mackel, CEO and managing partner of Weaver said in an announcement.

Ron Prejean, one of PRM’s founding partners, will retire after more than 50 years. Kolette LeBlanc in Houston will serve as the executive partner of the Lafayette office with support from Prejean. Weaver acquired New York-based accounting firm Levine & Seltzer in April. Weaver employs about 250 people in Houston.
