Stigmatization and lack of funding to fight the spread of HIV/Aids are among the biggest concerns that were raised atLatest data from the World Health Organisation notes that last year, over 7.5 million South Africans were living with HIV.

Dlamini says stigmatization experienced by those infected is demotivating. She says living in rural areas is also a challenge. “We are having what we call CCMDD where people don’t need to go to the hospitals or big clinics to access their medication. But they go to their churches and access their medication.”

Provincial MEC for Health Nomagugu Simelane says they are concerned that the youth are still leading with the highest infection.
