In travel news, united is eyeing adding more international destinations flySFO after placing massive Boeing airplane order

United Airlines said Tuesday that it plans to add more than 2,200 employees at its major hub at San Francisco International Airport in 2023.

Companywide, United hired 15,000 employees in 2022 and expects to add another 15,000 next year. The hiring across the company includes pilots, flight attendants, aircraft mechanics, customer service, ramp and gate agents. United also exercised options to buy 44 Boeing 737 MAX narrowbody jets for delivery between 2024 and 2026 and ordered 56 more MAX aircraft for delivery between 2027 and 2028. All told, United said it expects to take delivery of about 700 new aircraft by the end of 2032 — an average of more than two every week in 2023 and more than three per week in 2024.
