Shares of chemicals firm Croda International PLC CRDA, +1.84% and residential building construction company Persimmon PLC PSN, +1.83% rose 1.84% and 1.83%, respectively.
The pound was flat against dollar GBPUSD, -0.06% at $1.2112 and was up 0.32% against the euro GBPEUR, +0.30% at €1.1499.
