Intel's full-year operating losses for its semiconductor manufacturing business have increased to $7 billion. General Motors experienced a decline in first-quarter U.S. vehicle sales, primarily due to a drop in sales to fleet customers.

Intel reported a wider operating loss for its semiconductor manufacturing business, with full-year losses reaching $7 billion. This is the first time Intel has disclosed revenue totals for its foundry business alone.

The company is planning to start an external business to make chips for other companies. General Motors reported a 22.9% decline in first-quarter U.S. vehicle sales, largely due to a drop in sales to fleet customers.
