has proposed a merger between the Bank of Agriculture and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s NIRSAL Microfinance Ltd as well as a fresh capital injection to revitalise the bank.
The proposal is based on recommendations from the NCP’s committee on BOA, which identified challenges and the need for urgent resolution. He also highlighted the proposal to “cede National Agricultural Land Development Authority land titles to BOA so that it reflects in its Balance Sheet, thus increasing its capital adequacy for the purpose of raising funds from institutional investors”.
The NCP also addressed proposals for the establishment of an independent system operator from the Transmission Company of Nigeria and a strategy paper for optimizing oil and gas assets.
